If you ask my parents, I’ve been a storyteller since I was a little girl. I’ve never been afraid to talk to anyone and I love meeting new people. So when I get asked how I got into photography, I confidently say: scrapbooking! You might be wondering how the heck scrapbooking led me to photography, but let me explain! You see, I was the girl at every middle school dance with four disposable cameras. I would walk into the dance with a list in my head of the shots I needed with friends and I knew the backdrops I wanted specifically for my scrapbook.

"I wanted a way to look back on my life and I’m so happy that I have thousands of pictures to tell my story and remember the little details even when I’ve long forgotten about them."

When my scrapbooking obsession didn’t go away, my mom and dad bought me my first DSLR. (Apparently it was cheaper to buy a digital camera than all the disposable cameras I would burn through in a month!) I affectionately named her my “big camera” and I can tell you she went everywhere with me. I wanted my camera to help tell my story and to remind me of my friends and family from the big events to the everyday happenings of my life. I knew that there were photos that I would want to look back on years later so I could be transported back to that moment in time and remember exactly how I felt in those moments. I wanted a way to look back on my life and I’m so happy that I have thousands of pictures to tell my story and remember the little details even when I’ve long forgotten about them. And now, I’m able to tell the story of each and every person that steps in front of my lens. There’s nothing more powerful than freezing moments in time, and now I'm able to do just that for my clients!

Most days, you’ll find me in my office wearing yoga pants and a sweatshirt, curled up with my favorite Vera Bradley blanket with a coffee not far from reach. I’m also a registered yoga teacher, so during the week, there’s a good chance you’ll see me in a yoga studio leading students and helping them manage stress and anxiety. My husband is a huge part of my business and helps me so much with the not so glamorous tasks. (Hello, taxes!) But he’s also my second shooter and biggest fan! Outside of work, we love visiting our favorite local brewery and going on walks with our chocolate lab, Bogart.

I love being able to live my life in the way that I have dreamed about for years. From documenting the genuine emotion between a husband and a wife during the first look on their wedding day, to witnessing the joy on a mother’s face when she sees her baby in the nursery for the first time, and capturing the perfectly imperfect moments during a family session when the parents tickle their little ones just to hear them laugh- these are the stories I tell. And I can’t wait to tell yours!

Hi! I'm allison!

coffee

I grew up drinking coffee and there’s nothing better than having a cup with friends. My go-to Starbucks order is a grande dirty chai with one shot of espresso (or two depending on the day!)

all things blush

light pink is my favorite neutral (because it really does go with everything!)

fresh flowers

there’s nothing better than seeing pretty blooms in our house, especially when my husband surprises me with a new bouquet.

donuts

specifically the ones with sprinkles!

yoga

Besides teaching, I love taking classes for myself. Yoga keeps me grounded.

comfy clothes

give me a pair of align leggings from Lulu or a comfy sweater from Loft and I’m a happy girl. The majority of my wardrobe comes from those two places, and I’m totally ok with that!

plants

succulents, fiddle leaf figs and snake plants make me ridiculously happy. I’m a wanna-be plant lady, who is working on her green thumb.

diamonds

I believe diamonds are a girl’s best friend -- the more sparkle, the better!

and your legacy.

your story

Whether you’re planning the wedding of your dreams, an in-home newborn session or updated family photos, my goal is to provide you with an incredible experience that results in images you’ll treasure forever. I want you to be comfortable with me and I’ll do my best to make you feel confident in front of my camera. (I promise you can’t mess it up!) I love getting to know my clients and becoming a friend and trusted resource when it comes to all things photography. From the minute you contact me, you’ll learn that you’re not just “another client.” Your story matters to me and I want to document the real life, joyful moments that you’ll print out and fill frames with for years to come.

Enough about me, I want to hear about you!
